Organizers for the Craftsman 540-Piece Mechanics Tool Set

Craftsman has made several changes to this set over time, and we make tool organizers for three different versions. Choosing a version below will show you the available tool organizers.

Version 1 - Key Differences

Model number: Craftsman 36540
Sockets, ratchets, and wrenches have "U.S.A." stamped on them.
No stubby wrenches are included.

Version 2 - Key Differences

Model number: Craftsman 35540 or 49540
No "U.S.A." markings on sockets, ratchets, or wrenches.
Includes 16 stubby combination wrenches.

Version 3 - Key Differences

Same model number and contents as version 2.
All the combination wrenches are longer than version 2 (see note below).
One box wrench may be longer (see note below). You may need the box wrench organizer from version 2 or 3.

Note on combination wrench length:

Version 2 (shorter)

The 1/2 combination wrench (Craftsman 44695) measures 6-1/2 inches long.
The 13 mm combination wrench (Craftsman 42917) measures 6-1/2 inches long.

Version 3 (longer)

The 1/2 combination wrench (Craftsman 45977) measures 8-1/4 inches long.
The 13 mm combination wrench (Craftsman 45992) measures 8-1/4 inches long.

Note on box wrench length:
